Best Free Medical Billing Training

Rumors have spread around on the Internet for years about free medical billing training. I don't know how they started but with all the research I've done over the years I've never found any medical billing training that is free nor medical coding either but I have some suggestions.

It’s hard to believe there would be since so many schools offer medical billing and coding classes, courses and training opportunities and would have to cover their costs-- for teachers, marketing and other costs, etc. so it doesn't make sense. Wishful thinking perhaps however there may be ways to get medical billing training free.

Mind you this is just my opinion and some suggestions if you haven't thought of these already.

First suggestion - If you currently work for a business-related employer and especially one in the health, insurance, billing or claims fields, you might approach them with a proposal to trade some hours of extra work for paying for some online classes. It depends on how much you can handle in terms of the hours you are already working. You don't want to overload yourself. If the medical billing classes are online then you have more leeway of course as to what hours you study. But if they're on your local campus it may take some juggling of classes and work.

Second suggestion-- you could approach the local billing and coding companies--billing services, claims services, health facilities and doctors offices and find out if they have trouble finding qualified billers, coders or billing specialists? Inquire at the human resources department. If so, you might offer to work a few free hours a week to train there and have them pay for some online classes for you. You won't need certification either.

The offer to work for free will catch their attention. And many companies have trouble finding qualified medical billers, medical coders and billing specialists. They'll be very surprised and not used to hearing offers to work free in trade for paying for some classes online or on campus. I

Try this approach you have everything and a job and education to gain. Make sure to smile a lot and be friendly whether on phone or in person. In person is better.

Borrowing Money For Medical Billing School

Borrow money for medical billing school? Yes this can be done from many sources but try this as your last resort.

There is financial aid and loans for online education or online classes from the federal government but it has to be paid back just like from on campus medical billing training school. There are other ways to get loans and credit cards, which I don't advise you to do. You have to pay it back and usually at a high interest rate. Try all the ways to get your medical billing training free first.

Make sure you know exactly what courses you want to take and what they cost. Often you can pick just what you need and don't need to take additional courses especially some  extra that some billing schools offer. That would cost more money in the end and that you don't need to get a job in the medical billing or medical coding areas.

Keep in mind that if you are determined enough to find a solution you probably will. It will take effort and work to find a solution, a way to go free but if you do so you may just be able to get free medical billing training. Medical Billing Training
